WHAT IS HOPE REIGNS?
In order to have a new beginning, one must first reach the conclusion of a milestone. For cancer patients, radiation and chemotherapy treatments can be an overwhelming and seemingly endless journey. Completing that journey is a true triumph and is a moment that has been celebrated by the ringing of a bell since 1996. What started at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center by a Navy SEAL has continued, becoming a tradition held at multiple hospitals and cancer centers. Not every patient who finishes radiation, and chemotherapy however, has the opportunity to ring a bell. Because of the gravity of this moment, Hope Reigns was created. Hope Reigns is a program that provides bells to cancer patients finishing radiation or chemotherapy free of charge.
